Coonoor Rotti
Recipe card for Coonoor Rotti:
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time: 15 mins - 20 mins
Serves: 7-8 rottis

Ingredients:

1/2 cup roasted gram
-
1/2 cup fresh coconut
-
1 handful curry leaves
-
10 dry red chillies
-
2 medium onions finely chopped
-
1 cup rice flour
-
2 tbsp coriander chopped
-
1 tsp cumin seeds
-
water (for mixing)
-
salt (as per taste)
-
oil for roasting
-
butter (for serving)

Instruction:
-
In a mixing jar , add fresh coconut, red chiiles, curry leaves, salt, roasted gram and salt.

Grind it to a medium coarse paste.

Take rice flour in a large mixing bowl.
-
Add the grounded paste, onions, cumin seeds and coriander.

Mix well to combine altogether and add water if required.

Once the dough is prepared set aside for 10 mins.

Take a rotti pan (thin) , apply oil, take a small portion of the dough and flatten it evenly.

Make sure its not too thin and add a spoon of oil on top.

Roast the rotti by covering the lid .

Flip over and roast on the other side as well.

Serve hot with some butter.
