Avarekalu Pulav/ Hyacinth Beans Pulav

Ingredients:

1 big onions chopped
-
1 1/4 cup avarekalu/hyacinth bean
-
1 big tomatoes chopped
-
2 handful mint leaves chopped
-
1 medium potatoes chopped
-
10 green chillies slit
-
10 cloves garlic chopped
-
1 inch grated ginger
-
1 bay leaf
-
1 cup rice
-
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
-
1.5 tsp coriander powder
-
1/4 tsp pepper powder
-
salt (as per taste)
-
3 cups water
-
1 tsp mustard seeds
-
1 tbsp oil
-
1 tbsp ghee

Instruction:
-
Heat oil and ghee in a cooker.

Splutter some mustard seeds.
-
Add ginger, garlic, green chilly, onions and saute till transulent.

Add mint leaves and fry for a minute.
-
Add tomatoes, potatoes and fry for 2 mins.
-
Add all the spice powders: garam masala powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, salt and mix well.

Now add on avarekalu/hyacinth beans and salt, mix well.

Add rinsed rice and saute for 5 mins till the moist has gone.

Finally add water and stir well.

Pressure cook for 2 whistles.

Release the pressure and mix the rice gently.

Serve hot with curd raita.

Method​:

4. Add mint leaves and fry for a minute.
5. Add tomatoes, potatoes and fry for 2 mins.

6. Add all the spice powders: garam masala powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, salt and mix well.

7. Now add on avarekalu/hyacinth beans and salt, mix well.

8. Add rinsed rice and saute for 5 mins till the moist has gone.

9. Finally add water and stir well.

10. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
11. Release the pressure and mix the rice gently.
12. Serve hot with curd raita.
